Preparation
If you are not from finance background, it may take little more time to get hold of concepts. Take 4-6 months with job in your kitty to prepare thoroughly for it. If you have already read the concepts in your graduation, then definitely it may help.
Books
- CFA Curriculum books are awesome, with good depth and lucid writing, they anytime makes it to the top of the list. The only disadvantage is they are quite bulky.
- You may refer Schwezer material if you are have a little crunch of time.
- Remember to take couple of sample papers/tests before the main exam.
It is a long journey to complete the CFA 3 levels and gain four years of relevant experience to earn CFA Charter. Most of the candidates leave it after failing to clear some levels.
According to my experience of clearing CFA exam, No one material is good for preparing for CFA level 1. So I would advise you too use different material of different prep providers for a better preparation for CFA level 1 exam so you can confidently clear the exam.
I would advise you to use :-
For Study material – Schweser and CFA Institute.
They are best study material one can get for CFA. Schweser material is well known in the the CFA space.
For videos – Arif Irfanullah and Mark Meldrum.
If you are stuck with a doubt in your mind than videos of these gentlemen will help you clear your doubt and not only that they also clear your concept as well.
For Practice – PrepSmarter.
They are known for their adaptive practice engine and a huge question bank for CFA level 1. They also have an app so you can practice anywhere.
So, a combo of all these will help you in cracking the CFA exam.
